The Centers for Equity, Leadership, and Community (ELC) and Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) have been in collaboration this year anticipating that all of us across this University who are student-facing will be seeing more and more students who are stressed and anxious about national and international issues. In the fall, Jan Barker Alexander and Inge Hansen convened a sizable group of first responders and upper-level administrators in an effort to be proactive and effective in handling current and upcoming challenges. We were delighted at the authentic dialogue that ensued around people’s hopes and fears for the upcoming year, as well as their willingness to be vulnerable and honest.
In true Stanford tradition, we have an acronym!
PACT:
Prepare
Act
Care
Team
Please note that "Care" not only includes students, but ourselves.
If you’re interested in connecting with this group, please fill out this VERY BRIEF survey so we can collect your contact info well as enable us all to begin to network with one another. The “Please feel free to come for me for...” prompt is an invitation for you to list resources you can offer your colleagues and their students, anything from “financial literacy resources” to “coffee when you’re feeling stressed or isolated.” We look forward to connecting with you!
